Liz B. Baker is a futurist, keynote speaker, and AI strategist based in Richmond, Virginia. She delivers 25+ keynotes and workshops across corporate, government, higher education, nonprofit, faith-based, healthcare, fine arts, and entrepreneurial sectors. Her work sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, organizational transformation, ethical leadership, and human potential.
Liz spent two decades inside the machinery of the Fortune 500, optimizing the complex systems that move the global economy. At Verizon, TIAA-CREF, and MeadWestvaco, she led transformation across operations, marketing communications, digital strategy, and change management. That experience gave her the operational depth that most speakers lack: she doesn't just talk about transformation. She's led it inside organizations with tens of thousands of employees.
Then she stepped into the nonprofit sector to serve and study the systems that move humanity. She spent four years on church staff. She visited 52 churches in 52 weeks from Texas to Toronto, an ethnographic study built on operational observation, guest experience analysis, and Fortune 500 systems thinking. She authored and piloted a curriculum designed to double a nonprofit's membership in one year. She served as Executive Director of the Working Assembly of Governmental Employees (WAGE) and consulted for the Virginia Governmental Employee Association (VGEA).
This combination, Fortune 500 systems thinking applied to human-centered organizations, is what makes her perspective rare. She's not a tech evangelist who stumbled into speaking. She's an organizational strategist who recognized that AI is the most powerful tool for transformation she's ever encountered.
Today Liz is the founder of Nimbology, a consultancy offering fractional C-suite leadership, AI strategy, and organizational transformation. She is also the founder of the Global Institute for AI & Humanity, a nonpartisan institution dedicated to ensuring AI serves humanity rather than exploiting it.
She is a founding member of AI Ready RVA, one of the fastest-growing AI literacy organizations in the country, where she founded and leads the Women & AI Cohort.
She is also the author of the AI Citizens Kit, a free, independent public resource helping individuals, families, and organizations protect their data, rights, and agency in the AI era.
Liz believes AI is the greatest leadership opportunity of our generation. She also believes it requires honesty about what it costs, what it risks, and who it serves. Her approach is neither uncritical enthusiasm nor uninformed fear. It is strategic, ethical, and grounded in two decades of real-world transformation work.
She believes organizations should be architects of their future, not passive recipients of change. She believes the best technology amplifies what makes people irreplaceable. And she believes the leaders who move now, with intention and integrity, will define what comes next.
Liz holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
